This WebAmphibian.Com application is a 'web design tool.'
WebHide provides a way of hiding email
addresses in web pages that is not easy for spammers to scan for. It
does this by converting all of the characters of the "mailto:" URL, as
well as the display text into a jumble of HTML escape sequences via a
programatic JavaScript routine. Each time the page is redrawn, the links
appear differently.
History of WebHide
WebHide was derived out of a need to cut
down on some of the spam that almost always comes from putting your
email address on a web page.
To use WebHide, simply enter the text of
the actual "mailto:" URI and the text you wish displayed into the
interface. You can then use the "sterio control" buttons (in red below)
to add more and more encoded URI/text pairs. Once you are done, you can
then click on the "File" tab and "Export to Clipboard" or "Save to file"
the JavaScript necessary to implement the
WebHide system.
